I think one more day and the shake test will be finished. If I am
reading this right, there is a cream colored clay in it. The red earth
effect is due to cinder dust and apparently the clay is cream colored
also because of cinder.
I left my books at work so can't remember the exact ratio for clay to
sand. Will try to find online unless one of you knows off the top.
The ribbon was left to dry as it was and when I try to pinch it to
crush, nothing happens. It's pretty hard even without the straw. This is
so fascinating.
I talked with a youth services business in town as they are getting the
kids involved in building homes just like Habitat for Humanity and they
are really excited about the kids learning how to build with earthbag
and cob. There's a group of older people who help build with alternative
materials here as well. When the time comes it would be great if someone
who really knows more than I do could be here to help give direction. I
couldn't pay anything. This will be on a shoestring and paycheck to
paycheck but it could be done by winter this year. At least enough to
live in.
