"The Making of FireWorks"
- In April 2002 FireWorks Restaurant (then Intaba's) opened, marking
the first commercial application of cob construction, featuring a 9
foot tall cob oven built by Kiko Denzer, over 100 feet of cob
courtyard and privacy walls and extensive cob plaster and artistic
features. This slideshow and tour with Proprietor Ocean Liff-
Anderson is a rare behind-the-scenes opportunity to celebrate the 8th
anniversary of our unique hand-built restaurant. FREE and Open to the
Public.

Basics of Cob Building
FireWorks, 1115 SE Third Street
- A major contributer to the design and building of FireWorks,
Artisan Builder Perry Uber offers this workshop covering the
fundamentals of earthen construction, including material selection,
foot mixing and building a new cob bench in the FireWorks courtyard.
Saturday, April 24, 10am-2pm
Earthen Plaster & Finishing
- The second bench building event, learn the basics of earthen
plasters with Artisan Builder Perry Uber. We will mix and apply
plaster to the new cob bench and learn about oil & beeswax treatments.
Workshop cost: $30 each or $50 for both, includes wood fired pizza
lunch from the cob oven! Advanced Registration Required - please
