[Cob] Earthen Floors

HI All;

I am actually in the planning stages and I am looking to restore a wooden
house with wattle and daub with light straw clay. I would look to replace
the wooden floors with an earthen floor. But I am unsure as to putting the
floor level with the base of the house of if there would be problems
bringing the floor up to the top of the original joist.

And suggestions or insight would be appreciated
