[Cob] Are roof overhangs absolutely necessary?

Yes, overhangs should be prominent on cob buildings. It's a personal  
choice, but I think for cosmetic reasons. But I sure wouldn't want to  
take that chance of building small overhangs then having rain blow in  
the cracks which developed between the wood and cob. I was also  
thinking how since I live in Georgia, I'm more concerned with staying  
cool in the summer than warm in the winter. So, I'm going with a wrap- 
around porch. That solves the overhang problem!
