Where do you buy postassium silicate (waterglass paint). I guess it 
might help if I knew what waterglass is.

Over hangs, as long as direct rain is not falling down then you 
should be fine. Maybe you could provide some documentation on English 
cob house or the houses at the cob cottage in Oregon.  I'd put 3 ft 
over hangs  on it and enjoy the "Mud Luscious" walls.
