Cob earthen plaster on woodKeith Breuker flyfisherkb at centuryinter.netThu Mar 25 19:17:49 PST 1999
Thanks for all the suggestions for earthen plastering on wood. Being a little bull headed sometines I used my original idea anyway. It was to mix 6 parts clay, 6 parts fine silica sand and one part Elmers glue diluted to a paint like consistancy. We swabed this on with a long handled brush as a primer. It took very little time and dried quickly. When it was dry we plastered over it with our regular plaster mix. The reason I'm telling you this is that I had to remove a small section of this plaster on wood due to poor planning. I found that it had stuck very well and wouldn't come off without removing some wood also. -- Keith Breuker Engineer SB Owner/Builder Flyfishing Author Beulah, MI
