The first International Photografical Competition on "Earth  Architecture:
architectural landscape" is an enterprise of Casalincontrada (CH)
Documentation Center on Earth  Architecture. 
The "rediscovery" of  knowledge linked to raw earth architecture recontructs
in images a mosaic of men, things, matters and places. 
Images that can be "survivals" but also "new scenarios", 
 architecture of the territory, memories and reality.

RULES: 

The Documentation center on Raw Earth Architecture in Casalincontrada,
together with the Province of Chieti (administrative district) and Fotoclub
Cultural Association, promoted the first International Competition called
"Earth Architecture. Architectonic Landscape". 
The competition has the following rules: 

1) Fixed Subject: "EARTH ARCHITECTURE" one single section W / B and Colour. 
2) Each author will be allowed to present no more than 4(four) works. The
size of the prints will have to be cm. 30 x 40 . Smaller sizes are allowed
provided the pictures  are put on a thin card of 30 x 40 cm. 
3) On the back of each work the entrant must indicate: name, surname,
address, nationality, progressive number and title of the work and if you
belong to an association. The work must specifically indicate the place the
picture  refers to. 
4) Partecipation is free. 
5) The works can be delivered by hand or by mail on 30/10/98 to this
address:

6) Each author is responsable for his picturesathorizes its publicsation. In
this case we guarantee the quotation of the name of the author. 
7)  Works will NOT be given back to the authors. 
8) The jury 's judgement is inappellable. Partecipation to the competition
means  total acceptance of theese rules. 
9) The works that win awards, are recommended or admitted to the competition
will  be exhibited in show-case. 
10) The organisation, even assuring the maximum care, declines all
responsabilities concerning possible thefts, damages, losses. 
11) The prizes that have not been personally received will be sent by mail
at the organisation's expenses. 
12) The given data may be used only for reasons dealing with photografic
competition s according to the italian law n° 675/96. 
13) The competition is valid for the A.N.A.F. AB 8/99 classification 
14) No entrant can be awarded more than one prize. 
  

THE PERMANENT DOCUMENTATION CENTER ON RAW EARTH ARCHITECTURE 
The Permanent Documentation Center on Raw Earth Architecture (Cedterra) was
created by the Town Council of Casalincontrada. The Center was recognized in
1996 when the regional law 144/94 passed. It offer the following services: a
library, a photo and slide exhibition and the organisation of cultural
events on the raw earth architecture. 
On panels are shown the materials given by the AICAT (Italian Association of
Earth Architecture Lovers, Mr. Eugenio Galdieri is the national
Co-ordinator). They testify the presence of earth architectures in italy and
in the World. 
The Center keeps on an exhibition called Memories and Realities that, since
1985, reorganises and analyzes the Abruzzo territory and put in relation
with the Algerian reality. 
Moreover, the exhibition gathers the first material coming from the census
on the earth architecture started in 1997 by the Province of Chieti on its
territory.
