I wonder who writes their questions? "Does it have to be ugly..." Hah!
Because some architect in Wales said there was a "lack of aesthetic
leadership" in some straw bale houses somewhere there...shows how lame
About.com is in multiple sources of info or doing some direct research of
their own.

Although I'm sure one could build something as ugly as contemporary
ego-techture or tract housing using "natural building," I can't imagine why
anyone would want to. And I'm willing to bet that the "ugliest" "natural
buildings" are those designed by architects, rather than those lovingly
crafted by owners, family and friends...?
