Cob: Big Boost for Straw

Hey!  This is great!

The military - 17th Wing - here in Wpg just
constructed a 1400 square foot straw bale home for
there sewage treatment plant building and offices. 
There were 120 volunteers and workers (wish I'd known
about it!) put up the walls in 31C heat yesterday.

It is minimally framed and placed on a cement slab
(this is great news because this slab is much cheaper
than the foundation I was told to build.  Incorporated
in the slab is a radiant heat coil.  Very good.

One thing I find confusing is that they claim the wall
need to breathe as opposed to what I thought (needing
a strong vapour barrier) I have a lot of research to
do!
