Cob: 'allo?

Cob or adobe for an outdoor patio just won't work. Coats of beeswax and
linseed oil won't work because rain and puddles will always soak through
the sides. A thread on the SB list concluded that beeswax and linseed oil
on exterior walls doesn't last. It has to be re-applied every
year. Linseed oil isn't cheap either.

If you want something permanent, I'd say rock. If you can find nice
flat-sided pieces in your area. Set in 4" of pea gravel.
