Fire lovers who want to learn how to build a superefficient downdraft
mass heater for your snug cob house, here's your chance. These heaters
with cob benches also make lovely earthy, multi-functional additions to
a conventional living room. Cob Cottage Co. is doing a workshop March
23-25 in Cottage Grove, OR; there are still a few spaces available.
Learn how fire burns, what makes combustion efficient, how to build the
ultimate in snug, energy-saving campfires, stoves, and fireplaces for
cooking and comfort, at almost no cost. We’ll burn and evaluate 5
models, build 1 or 2. The workshop begins Friday at 6 p.m., ends Sunday
afternoon. The $200 cost includes camping, instruction and all meals.
