Until now, there has been no permanent training center for natural builders in North America. To cope with the growing need for trained natural builders, Cob Cottage Co. is taking the first steps to establish the North American School of Natural Building. Cob Cottage is negotiating a long-term lease on 20-30 acres of secluded coastal rainforest in southern Oregon and will begin a 6-week apprenticeship intensive there in May with the first eight trainees. A backup program will be offered August 13-September 14, a 5-week intensive followed by supervised placements through fall and winter. The 5-week program is also open to owner-builders.
