Cob: RE: Wood instead of Straw?Chuck & Linda clearned at bminet.comThu Aug 23 21:53:07 CDT 2001
HI Bjj, I built a wall using woodchips coated with clay slip, it wasn't cob, but it worked well. I built a double wall and then used slats to create a cage and poured in the mixture, then I plastered it up with the slats still on. It is one of my greenhouse walls, non loadbearing of course. Hello I am curious if there has been any cob that has been made with shredded wood? My city has a wood recycling program and I was thinking that some of the smaller graded material would work in place of straw. I can see that there are a lot of factors i.e. wood type, particle size, wood-sand-clay ratio, that could affect the outcome of the cob. thanks in advance. bjj jensens at crcom.net --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
