Cob: vermiculite plaster addition

Hi 
I would like to know if anyone has ever thought or
heard of adding vermiculite to a plaster (made of just
fine sand,straw,clay) for the outside of a house to
increase the insulation value?  I would like to try
this on my house but am a little nervous about it -
