Cob: resistance/new guyOcean ocean at peacemaking.orgSat Nov 10 00:05:27 CST 2001
Hey Lance, I myself was a partner who was very strongly against cob-type housing esp. it's durability under the Oregon rainy season! Then I started looking into it and read enough to help me realize I was off-base. The best cure to anti-cob bias is of course to go visit a real cob house. Even the hard-core resister in me was completely taken by the organic form, warm feel and amazing ambiance. The result: within 18 months I had built a 500 square foot cob building, with Ianto & Linda's help of course (and about 50 other folks too!) And I don't think your topic is off base at all. There's plenty of resistance out there to this funky way of building. If anyone thinks this > is off topic, speak, and I will cease posting on this aspect.
