mabey in canada it would be best to use the foam insulation over all the outside walls of an earthen home covered with "drive it" (a man made stuco) like they do on adobe homes in the western states of the USA on the south and west walls to keep the heat gain down from the summer heat (check out adobe at yahoogroups.com ) i know it would really be nice to use an earthen stuco but mabey in your case you might have to fudge a bit
