That is in the plans (contacting the Guatamalan Affilate)
Sorry about the dig on stick builders...old habits die hard :-)

Greetings, I suppose I could join in with some ideas for Patrick from Africa or Brazil or some other place that is NOT Guatamala, but ,even though he wants to "show these dang stick builders just what can be done with cob", as I quote below, he was given the mandate to build an authentic earthen oven as would be used in a traditonal home in Guatamala. So why not contact a Guatamalan or even someone from Chiapas or elsewhere in Southern Mexico or at least Central America for an authentic design that reflects the cultural reality of it's origin. As Darel or anyone who has lived outside of their birth culture knows, there are reasons for certain types of building designs and structures being used. It would seem the point of authenticity is to reveal a part of a culture not seen by non-Guatamalans. Presumably, the purpose is not to put stick builders in their place . Having eaten beans from a Guatamalan stove, I can testify that they work as fine as any Lorenus, Japanese, East Indian or any other fine stove and are amazingly authentic. PAZ, Pedro
