Steel rebar should never be used to reinforce cob or adobe. Note the article
by Fred Webster, Ph. D. Seismic Engineer. (I think this is report is available
to any who want to read it.)
Also, bamboo can replace steel in many natural building applications such
as tying straw bales together, but I would not use it in cob or adobe. I have
an unlimited supply of bamboo in the Washington, DC area available to natural
builders for free, and there are other people in other areas of the country
who have similar supplies.
