[Cob] cob and earthquakes

So, in building with anything--cob, bales, steel, wood, concrete, stone (I
remember reading about the invention of flying buttresses as a great
innovation)--we need to try to destress our building.

;-)

(I do wonder why the expensive Gernot Minke book is a good resource and the
free on the internet manual is not worth considering. In that a good deal
of time is spent showing how to reduce point stresses on a building--by
shape, construction, and siting, which is why I recommend it for anyone
doing "natural building" anywhere.)
................
thank you Bill. He wrote, in part:

by what is still left standing the parts of the buildings that were the
stronger...
But that would only show a relative picture,,, because we could only assume
that all of the structures were under that same stresses.

Ok,, where is the Jar??? * drops in 2¢ * bill
