The building codes are often modified by local jurisdictions, if you buy a
copy of the Oregon building codes, what you get is the standard building
code along with a packet of supplements that are the Oregon
modifications, some of which simply note that particular sections of the
code were not adopted by the state, or are replaced completely by one of
the supplements.  In other words, getting a copy of the IBC may not
completely reflect your local codes.
