[Cob] High thermal mass and low occupancy

From time to time I see comments that high thermal mass is a problem with
buildings not continuously occupied due to the long warm up time when the
residents return.

There is a heating product available here in Australia which uses solar
heat and a very simple control system which may be of interest. See
www.sunlizard.com.au

The basic idea is to have a solar air heater and to pump the heated air
into the house. The clever part is the use of a small solar panel to drive
the fan. When the sun shines the warm air is pumped into the house. No
sunshine, no pumping. It's difficult to think of a simpler control system.

In the right climate this would be a good way to warm your house when you
are away. (And of course when you are there normally).
