[Cob] reinforcing!!

There's Pat's comment that cob don't stick worth *{}%$! to rebar unless you 
dipped it in concrete first.  Probably true of chicken wire as well.  If it 
has to be done, can I call you to come do it?

You're putting on a layer that is going to be an awful nuisance to do.  
There's not much in the way of through-the-mesh support. I gather that the 
straw bale people are now spraying slip onto their straw prior to 
plastering, especially with earth, that the plaster adheres better--less 
likely to fall off.

Some sort of barbed wire between layers of cob--the way the earth-bag people 
do it might work.  But the question is, is it necessary, given the strength 
of the fibers already in the sand-clay mixture, and the belief that curved 
walls, lots of built in support are good for earthen building?
