Interesting, and possibly useful, sets of pictures.

they do say that a permanent cob oven would have a sand/clay layer before 
the cob layer--see the book!--but that this wasn't permanent.

But does that cob look awfully wet to anyone but me?

The 24 x 24 masonry heater looks pretty interesting.
