    please forgive me if you thought i was trying to make the east versus west into something "negative".  i think it is wonderful that western rules are more relaxed when it comes to alternative building (keeps my hopes alive to remember this too).  i did not intend to imply other than that.  the east coast area's seem to be "followers" more often than "pioneers" when it comes to alternative building (which is probably do to the "pioneer spirit").  that is beginning to change as alternative building "pioneers" here on this east coast are making headway in "showing" that alternative doesnt mean dangerous or even weird, but good economic sense and they are beautiful so they also make good asthetic sense.

    thank you for explaining the reason cobb and cement/concrete are a dangerous combination.  maybe the cement coated rebar wont have as large of an effect on the cobb since it wont be a total covering over the cobb.
