[Cob] bobcat cobclaysandstraw kindra at claysandstraw.comWed Feb 21 23:07:07 CST 2007
Hi Amime, nice project, thanks for sharing the pics. yes the beauty of the bobcat is that you can make several yards of cob in a hour. I choose a bobcat over a tractor because you can turn it on a dime and then perch it right off the house where it needs to go. OSHA might not approve, but we stand right in the bucket and pitchfork the cob directly onto the wall. I have found that renting a bobcat was more cost-effective than purchasing...but those resources are readily avalible here in the states. The nuances of mixing also took some time to develop. there are several photos of bobcat action in with other shots of our most recent project... http://www.claysandstraw.com/projects/JenniferFruth/phase1.htm Kindra ****original message**** Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2007 01:17:53 -0500 From: aimedespon at aol.com Subject: [Cob] COB in Baja California <snip> Today I finally got some time, as wells as a little help from my daughter to make a web page that briefly explains what am I doing : http://cobinbaja.blogspot.com <snip> Now here is my question, I know some of you have used a bobcat kind of tool to make quite good cob. Besides, the bobcat would not only make a good cob mixer but prepare the floor as well, and bring a large amount of cob to the spot, and at the height it's needed Looking at the market for those machine has been hard, so many type, if any of you has any experience with this machinery, please give me your ideas.
