[Cob] Curious about the clay

Robert,
There's no need for going commercial, that's what everybody (or most
of us) here understand. No offense, but your clay skepticism seems to
be grounded on lack of knowledge of what the material is. Have you
been to a workshop or helped someone build with cob? If so, that
experience itself should have washed away all doubts. But if it
didn't, maybe you shouldn't go ahead with cob because you will
constantly be worrying about your building. Finding clay good enough
for cob isn't hard because it doesn't have to be pure and it doesn't
have to be much. Here's a rule of thumb: it just has to be sticky.
