[Cob] A view from Bulgaria

I have read this thread with interest because where I live most of the houses are built of earth and people are not, yet, subjected to these artificially imposed codes. Or perhaps I should say commercially imposed codes. Everyone cooks on fires. No-one has an indoor toilet and almost no-one has a bathroom let alone hot water system and air conditioning and they live perfectly happy and very productive lives.

Perhaps in GREAT Britain and the UNITED states of America we have got it wrong!!

On the other hand we have to be aware of those forces that affect us and building codes are one of those forces. Now that Bulgaria is part of the EU I have no doubt that houses that were perfectly safe to live in for the past 300 years will become unsafe.

Kind regards to all,

Su Hagan
