[Cob] Coblist Digest, Vol 8, Issue 49

Re barley - it's the straw he used not the grain. Barley straw (leftover
from barley grain harvesting - beer the end product) is readily available as
an option here in Canada as of course is wheat straw. The newspaper article
had a poorly constructed sentence - it should probably have said "clay,
stone, and barley and wheat straw" to avoid confusion.

Here's some background info from 2002 on this house.

and Kevin McCabe's website http://www.buildsomethingbeautiful.com/

and a link to the Devon Earth Building Association

(click on "leaflets" for one on regulatory compliance - building
regulations)

regards,

Kathy
