Cob: plastic wrapped bales> was NO FOAMlucynda norton dragonfly_183 at hotmail.comMon Feb 18 13:18:11 CST 2002
Well to be honest I thought that was a bad idea also. I hadn't thought of fog, but more about moisture getting in. I am not really sure if the foundation was load bearing or not, but I did dig up the website url. I had planned on trying to copy the interseting way they applied there stucco and saved the site into favorites for future refrence. http://home.earthlink.net/~richardandrobin/page1.htm >From: Charmaine R Taylor <tms at northcoast.com> >To: lucynda norton <dragonfly_183 at hotmail.com>, coblist at deatech.com >Subject: Re: Cob: plastic wrapped bales> was NO FOAM >Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 10:38:10 -0800 > >Would anyone else consider using plastic wrapped >straw bales a risky thing to do? >__________________ > >no way!!! bales are organic!! you will end up with FOG ( funculating >organic goo) > >plastic defeats the purpose of natural & breathable too. > >I presume the bales were not really the load bearing foundation? but >only insulation? please tell me so? > >Charmaine >www.dirtcheapbuilder.com > > > > _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
