Hi all. For those who are thinking about a floating slab foundation (perhaps you live in a cold climate and the thought of digging a 7 foot trench to pass the 6 foot frost depth overwhelms you). Rob Roy describes the construction of his in his Cordword Masonry book. However, I've recently come across where to get instructions for a strawbale/concrete slab foundation which insulates while removing the need for steel rebar.
