Cob: warming the walls (or the floors)

>From Jill's French link, I wandered into this (I hate fancy backgrounds on 
web pages!).  These guys are warming their walls, not their floors, but the 
rammed earth block with channels might work for either.  Somewhere (from 
India, I think) I ran into an earth block maker that could produce 
customized blocks easily.
