Cob: ADOBE FLOOR, over wood subfloor?

The slight give in the wood will cause cracking in the floor. The slight
give can be eliminated by shoring up your floor joists through doubling or
12 inch centers or increased depth, and by making the subfloor extra thick,
at least inch and a half. Then a layer of expanded metal lathe to bind the
floor together causing it to move as a monolithic piece. That should
minimize your risk of cracking, but there may still be some, as the house
settles.
