Cob building code & cob..anything new out there?

   I was reading John Fordyce's info regarding getting cob building
into code the other day and was wondering if there has been any
progress on this front? Is it any more accepted. I'm interested more
in terms of getting a building to be cleared ok for habitation, not in
terms of whether lending institutions will lend for cob construction.
I am fascinated with the idea of cob construction and would love to do
it but may not be able to relocate to the southwest.
Any info is appreciated.
