As far as clay goes, No problem, lots of good Georgia red clay there.
I'm not sure of the percentage of clay / sand in the local soil I'm
sure it's
available locally.

As far as codes go, the only info I know is that some years ago, a
friend tried
to build a strawbale sturcture and was turned down.

Again, I'm not sure what county they were in but it was near Athens on
the Broad river.

Subject: Cob: Any body building with cob in the Athens, Ga. area?

Hello, we are hoping to relocate to the Athens area in the spring. We
hope to find a nice patch of land and hopefully incorporate cob into our
building and design methods. Any info about codes and availability of
land w/ clay/sand in the area would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
