Here's one I've been pondering.
In most areas post and beam houses are no problem for
geting permits.  I don't think they specify what
material the "posts" are made of.  Perhaps rammed
earth posts could be described as earthen bricks. 
They pretty much are bricks, or just one large brick. 
I know the infill material is usually not important
for permits either, so cob would be a-ok.  That way
your entire wall is earth of some form or another.
Just an idea.
