Thanks Mary Lou.  Would I be able to use a kitchen oven for firing, or
would it be better to find some local pottery shop and enlist their aid?

Some geopolymers are structurally identical to granite; I'm guessing
that granite is pretty resistant to dropping.  But clay seems like the
best option for now.
