[Cob] cob/earth oven form- over stove?Amanda Peck ap615 at hotmail.comWed Jun 30 07:06:09 CDT 2004
Aha! I had wondered why on earth the experts mentioned finishing up an oven and firing it all on the same day, not waiting for weeks for it to dry. This is probably it. ................ Shannon wrote (snipped) After the cob has been applied (while it is still wet), fire up the stove and use it to partially dry/set the cob, this will help to reduce problems with the cob breaking apart later, since when the stove expands from the heat, the cob will be able to move without breaking, and then setup in the proper location for a hot stove, otherwise, when the stove is fired up (if the cob is dry when it's first fired), it will put alot more stress on the cob. _________________________________________________________________ Watch the online reality show Mixed Messages with a friend and enter to win a trip to NY http://www.msnmessenger-download.click-url.com/go/onm00200497ave/direct/01/
