DC?!? I'm moving that way at the end of the week! I believe Ed and I 
may've "talked" (offlist) about using a tiller for mixing cob a while 
back - was that you, Ed?

And, lol, it's been the prices of real estate in the DC area (We know of 
a guy who's plunking down (erm, borrowing and then plunking down) almost 
half a million for a townhouse.) that brings to mind that "mortgage 
means death pledge" and is driving home the fact that we need to get 
moving on this whole cob issue in whatever ways we can, while we're 
saving money in DC.
