[Cob] perfect oil!Yun Que yunk88 at hotmail.comMon Feb 5 16:39:53 CST 2007
Cat here! If you have got to have oil then here is what they did in Japan before opening up to Europe...they would wipe down their floors...with water from their baths. Since they soaped up, washed and rinsed out side of the soaking bath the only thing that went into the water was nice clean skin oil. Important when lots of people use the same water. The culture supported and admired this kind of fastidious labor, it took generations to get a sumptuous polish on the floor. The damp wipe allowed the water to act as the vehicle to move the oil into the wood. (any one see Fight Club?) Of course by now most American fat must be somewhat carcinogenic. check out a book called "Japanese Homes and Their Surroundings" by Edward S. Morse. copyright 1961 Dover Publications. Wonderfully readable book about hand made houses and the society that built them. for the good of all C. ______________________________________________________________ From: Shody Ryon <qi4u at yahoo.com> To: coblist at deatech.com Subject: Re: [Cob] oiling cob Date: Mon, 5 Feb 2007 10:05:44 -0800 (PST) MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: from vogon.deatech.com ([69.59.212.73]) by bay0-mc12-f8.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2444); Mon, 5 Feb 2007 10:11:39 -0800 Received: from localhost([127.0.0.1] helo=vogon.deatech.com ident=list)by vogon.deatech.com with esmtp (Exim 4.50)id 1HE8Ez-0001u9-Ci; Mon, 05 Feb 2007 10:06:57 -0800 Received: from web90603.mail.mud.yahoo.com ([216.252.100.186])by vogon.deatech.com with smtp (Exim 4.50) id 1HE8EP-0001tT-5Gfor coblist at deatech.com; Mon, 05 Feb 2007 10:06:35 -0800 Received: (qmail 47954 invoked by uid 60001); 5 Feb 2007 18:05:48 -0000 Received: from [67.170.140.173] by web90603.mail.mud.yahoo.com via HTTP;Mon, 05 Feb 2007 10:05:44 PST >One thing about the oiled floor; it felt connected to >the earth's life force energy.
