     Dear Cobbers,
  I just got back from a healing center that is restoring the earth back to where she was. Never in my life have I been more dramatized to what man has done to our planet. 150 years ago in Nevada and California there were rain forests with running water and 20"+ of rain where there is now only five or less a year. It took 20 acres a day of forest to run one oar mine. There were tens of 1,000's on oar mines out here clearing land on every eco system for 150 years.  Steel head salmon swam up most of the rivers 70 miles in some cases and only a few now. Then cattle was brought in to finish the job by eating the rest of the vegetation.  If there's a fire the soil can't support new growth, because the rains wash any the nutrients away. The land was then turned into a desert.
   
  The place we stayed was a hunting lodge that turned into a community center of permaculture. This lodge brought in hunters to kill off the rest of the wild life after their homes were taking away. Some animals like the raccoon and opossum opted to go urban where man throws away so much food they can survive. Oh by the way the Indians were poisoned off in this area. Now all there is left is a waste land with a few trees and bushes. The cows finally left three years ago after having cleared the land of plants for 150 years.   Orchids are now finally coming back that they can't even identify because there are no more cows to eat them. The person we went to see (Geoff Lawton http://www.permaculture.org.au/ )is bringing back forests into the Dead Sea area and now is teaching us how to do it here. Imagine being part of that, able to see plants growing where they haven't in 150 years or bringing back the beaver that is responsible for most of the meadows in America. The meadows
 hold the water in for water shed, otherwise it run off. Why aren't we told the crimes are ancestors have done on such a large scale and why isn't anything being done. 
   
  This place I stayed is called www.quailsprings.org and they are not allowed to build or heal the land correctly because of building codes and water laws. The gov. took back the power from the people as we let it get out of our hands back in the day. It's against the law to be sustainable. 
   
  Complete happiness to me is knowing how to reverse this devastation and witness the way god intended it to be in the first place. Complete sadness is watching it continue on the way it's going.
