[Cob] help needed in Permitting/structural Data - our trickles took off!

Hey everyone,

I've been a bit underground (pun intended) , moving out of Madison Wisconsin to my hometown in Iowa (for family reasons) and several folks have continued the smaller school projects that kids have done with us (OuttaTheBox).........

Well NOW I get a call from a big General Contractor in town (Madison) that a business is expanding to the heart of Downtown Madison and wants to put in a Cob wall feature as a part of their design AND they are being asked for detailed info on the makeup of the wall to approve it.

I need to get to them ASAP: City examples of 'approved' Cob, Cross sections, material lists, Test Data etc etc. and honestly I haven't been paying attention to ALL of your great posts about these subjects. I promised him I'd look through the archives but my experience of YOU great folks is that you step up to help a fellow projecteer!

THIS COULD BE A WATERSHED "Midwestern" project for building with earth so I'm psyched to help them get it going and I'll probably volunteer to once again lead a public workshop next spring. Other than that this project is in their (General Contractor) hands.....my main interest is to see a "revolution in mud" happen in a very visible way!

p.s. as background we built an earthen wall with an urbanite foundation at the Willy St. Food Coop in Madison several years ago....this project is in response to the interest generated their  - therefore the big ripples!  :-0
