Hello Friends of Cob,

My Name is Luchs, I live in Germany and I subscribed to this list to get
to know other people who are interested and/or experienced in natural
building and building with cob. I would like to exchange knowledge and
learn new technics. It's nice of course to have an email-list for that,
but I would be really happy to know that there is other people who are
involved in that topic close to where I live. Because for me it means
that this would be people I could potentially actually meet. With
"close" I mean in Germany or other Countrys in Europe. Do you know about
people who do that stuff (or even give workshops or possibilities to
join projects) somewhere around here? So far I heard about terra alta in
Portugal and places in the UK.

I'm especially interested in:

  * Plastering and working with lime
  * Building a Rocket Mass Heater Oven
  * Wastewater treatment with plants
  * Building with Straw bales

I have quite some handicraft skills and already started a project with
the knowledge I found in the Internet (mostly on Simon Dales Homepage).
It is going to be a round garden hut built on a rubble trench with dry
stone stem walls, straw bale walls, an oak round wood frame and a
reciprocal roof. So far I'm doing quite well I think (I'm finishing the
frame at the moment and preparing the roof), but I would love to learn
more from (and with) other people instead of sitting alone in front of
my computer doing research or sitting alone and thinking about problems
that other people might already have nice solutions for.

in short: I Would love to share my enthusiasm about this topic, exchange
knowledge and work together with other people who are also enthusiastic
about that. And preferably face to face :-).

I'm happy about every answer, every hint and every contact you have for
me on that!

thank you,

Luchs
