The Children's playhouse is really starting to look like something.
Thanks to help from Sandy, Milena and Maggie. We have finished the two side
walls and installed hurricane ties for the roof rafters. What remains to be done
is to finish the front and rear peaks to support the ridge pole.
I have decided to work Monday and possibly Tuesday because these are
the only days this week where rain is not predicted. If anyone can make it to
help that would be great. Working with one or two partners is immensely more
enjoyable than working alone particularly when you are up on a scaffold, and
everything that remains is scaffold work. I think two people can finish up the
cobing in one or two days.
I also need to find someone with a digital camera to take pictures. I
am surprised how far we have gotten with only ten days work. I think this
would be an ideal sized building for either a hunting cabin or a homeless shelter.
As a hunting cabin it is bullet proof except for the highest caliber of slugs
and it is fireproof except for the roof which will be thatch. As a children's
playhouse I have designed it to be vandal resistant by using Pyrex pie plates
as the northern windows and I have openings with no glass on the southern
side.
Thanks again for the help and emotional support.
